I've switched up today's post featuring a new theme each week. This week, the theme is Peace Signs. These are all available through Etsy. Please note #7 is sold as part of a set with an owl mosaic.

Promo Blast!

This isn't a typical Blast this week, but more a "shout out" to the many peace signs I've made over the years. Shockingly, this is only a small portion of what I've made.

Kind of amazing, isn't it?

Custom orders are very welcome. Now that I've re-opened the Etsy shop, I've cut the prices of all items, including customs. They are surprisingly affordable at $95 for a 10 inch peace sign.

Now is the time to get a peace sign to gift that awesome hippie you know and love. Start your collection of peace sign wall art, like a customer did a few years ago, with a Earth Mother Mosaics original made especially for you.

In The Studio - Wednesday

Because I'm working on something in the "Super Secret Mosaics Lab" this week, there are no photos I can share of the process of what I'm making.

I thought about just skipping the post today but instead I've decided I'd use this post as a way to show some things I've done in the past. And to remind those who read this regularly that my Etsy shop will be re-opening tomorrow September 22nd (my 62nd birthday!). I'm happy about that. I have missed the people there, the teams and the treasuries. Hopefully I'll be able to get back into everything full swing without much trouble after being away for over a year. A sale or two would be cool as well. ;)

So here's an example of what a custom order looks like. Over the years, I've listed suns, moons, gazing balls, peace signs and ball ornaments as available custom orders. I've stuck to that combination mostly but do a lot more custom work that isn't shown in any online shops. If you can think of something you'd like to see added to that list, let me know. For example, doing the mosaic letters spelling out a name isn't something I list as a custom order, but when asked, I'll do them. So, if you'd like to order something that isn't listed, just ask! Included in these photos are just a small sample of what I've done in the past few years as custom orders.

Promo Blast!

Did you see it?!! Did you see the newest listing for a Custom Made, Made to Order, 10 inch Peace Sign?!! After all these years, I'm finally offering them up as a listing. Over the years, the peace sign has become one of my favorite shapes to mosaic and I try to have one or two available to work on to list in the store at all times. Here's something that many have taken advantage of and is now offered up to all my lovely customers.

Mosaic Peace Sign - 10 inches - Custom Made To Order - $185.00
Who doesn't love the peace sign symbol and what it stands for?

I've put mosaics on this shape and sold them for about 6 years. Now we offer a custom made peace sign especially to fit your needs and color choices.

8 inch and 10 inch peace signs

Measures 10 inches and is offered in the traditional circle design and the square design while available through the supplier.

Want your very own peace sign using some broken china you may have or a favorite color in stained glass? I can take your broken china and mugs to make them into forever keepsakes giving something old a new purpose once more.

A broken earrings and a little bit of ball chain help add interest to this retro peace sign

These photos show some of the peace signs I've done in the past and does not represent exactly what you will get when ordering. Each mosaic I make is slightly different due to supplies and materials on hand. No two are alike making your custom order the actual definition of one-of-a-kind wall art.

A fiesta of color for the kitchen!

Place them in any room in your home. Past customers have placed them in their kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, guest room, covered porch.

Gift your favorite hippie with a beautiful work of art made especially for them.
These can be made using dish tiles or stained glass and mirror. Often a combination can be used as well. Broken jewelry as a focal point, if you have something to use, can be added.

The most unusually shaped peace sign I've made to-date (this particular one is still available and for sale in my shop however you can order a square one of your very own)

Please read: Made to order mosaics are not eligible for a refund or exchange. I work very closely with each customer, sharing photos as I go of the progress. Before I start I will make sure you are happy with your choices.

Half of the cost is used entirely for materials and supplies needed for your mosaic peace sign.

Want to work on a layaway program? No problem. We can work out monthly payments until it's paid-in-full. Need to have the amount split into 2 payments? I can send you monthly invoices through PayPal. No work will begin until the custom is entirely paid.

In The Studio - Part Two

I've packed up the peace signs and waved buh-bye. They are leaving the building today, I hope, and heading on to their new home in North Dakota.

The kidlets are home from school for Spring break until next week. I don't have to do a lot of wrangling now that the oldest can babysit her siblings but I'm here when they need me while Mom and Dad are working.

Yesterday the weather warmed up enough for them to head on out into the courtyard of our apartment complex and play. It was great to see them running around from my window.

I'm taking a small break between projects waiting on supplies for more doodling and mosaic work. It's good to rest and allow the muse to get ready for the next wave of creativity.

The next project for the crafts table is the free mosaic gifts I'll be making for 10 people who responded to the call on Facebook. I'll be doing another giveaway again soon, I'm fairly sure, because I like doing them. I don't donate much work any longer and leaving art abandoned is hard to do now that I'm no longer driving, so this is the perfect solution for me. At least I know those that receive these free mosaics will either gift it or keep it and enjoy it.

If you want to get in on the next giveaway let me know (US residents only at this time, sorry about that) either here or through one of the many other social media spots I frequent which can be found on the right. --->

And don't forget to sign up for the EMM Monthly Newsletter!! Subscribers get some awesome perks!

I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. Enjoy the moments!

In The Studio - Part One

It's been a difficult few days here for me due to unexpected aches from a slight fall. Nothing major!! However, the pains that already hurt from arthritis and cold/rainy weather in addition to this little bit of drama slowed me up a little bit. It's all good, though, because I never stopped creating art and nothing is bruised or broken. Yay!!

The peace signs are all finished and will get packed up soon.

Pre-grout prep work: the last 2 peace signs taped off to prevent grout from going where I don't want it to go. :)

Ninth Peace Sign - 10 Inches

Tenth Peace Sign - 8 Inches

What a wonderful adventure it's been. I'm happy with them all.

1 through 10

The next step in taking care of the customer when handling the peace signs is by running my fingers carefully along the outer edges to find sharp spots and grinding them a little bit with a diamond file.

All that is left is to bubble wrap each one carefully and pack them up for shipping.

Wave buh-bye!!

I also taped up the cat clock for grouting but haven't gotten to it yet. Once the peace signs are headed towards their new home, I'm fairly sure I'll do that next.

I haven't forgotten about the huge sphere that needs grouting. I've ignored it for a bit but I really should get to it soon so it can be displayed somewhere. I'm considering gifting it because I'm not sure we have the room for it here. That's something I don't usually take into consideration when the muse wants to play. :)

When I am not making a mosaic, I am doodling. I got a small box of Crayola markers a few months ago and I've more or less used every bit of them up.

My cousin gave me a book she got for herself and rarely used. After seeing some of my doodles she thought I might get some fun out it. I've been taking the designs from it and doodling onto cardboard or paper every since!

The last photo shows using up most of the colors as you can see the color fading. No worries, however, I just ordered a big box of gel pens and some awesome mixed media paper. I definitely will continue to have fun doodling as the months progress. Maybe soon a doodle will be adapted for a new mosaic!

In The Studio - Part One

I finished getting all the glass and dish tiles on the custom ordered peace signs! Yay!

Here's the last 10 inch peace sign - ready for grout. I used stained glass and mirror.

The very last 8 inch one has a wonderful array of tess. Millefiori, glass rods, polka dot glass half circles, broken ceramic dishes, stained glass and mirror. Ready for grout!

I probably won't get to the grouting of these until the weekend. Rain is headed our way and I'm in a tremendous amount of pain physically thanks to the low pressure system coming through. The fun thing about it is that we are supposed to have thunderstorms, which I love, so I'm positive once they head on out of our area I will be feeling rejuvenated and ready to grout both these and the cat clock that's waiting.
