Mosaic Monday

Mosaic Stained Glass Plate, Trivet, Candle Holder, Mosaic Plate, Mosaic Trivet, For The Home, Wedding, Anniversary, Housewarming, Birthday

This mosaic stained glass plate is what we call "Red Hot!".

These colors placed together remind me of the leaves on my favorite tree in the autumn season. When the sun shines through this, as in all my mosaic glass-on-glass items, it is incredible. Make this a focal point in your home on a bright sunny shelf in the kitchen. Add it to a gloomy room in your home that could use a bit of spice!

All hand cut glass in red, orange and yellow were placed in this plate. It's been grouted and sealed.

This plate is meant to be shown in sunlight. I used to call these plates sun catchers, but traditionally sun catchers are hung in the window to grab the light. My plates are heavy and hanging is not recommended nor do I craft them for that purpose. They look fantastic sitting in the window in a display dish holder.

I've added some mosaic magic to an old discarded ceramic serving bowl. Simple designs in orange, amber and brown in glass and ceramic tiles cover the inside giving it an updated look.

I'm very proud of creating useful art. Here's a great example of how to recycle and reuse something. By recycling this bowl I've conserved valuable natural resources and saved something that would otherwise be buried in a landfill.

It's a Promo Blast! kinda day and it's coming from my newly re-opened shop on Etsy.

I'm thinking you'll be seeing some of my favorite shops not just on Etsy now that I'm back but also from the other shops I share my items online with. I like sharing! I'm looking forward to finding some new things to share, but you can be sure I'll also be sharing some old favs!

I learned that the Etsy Treasury is going to retire in October. While I'm very sad about that, I understand their thinking and am fine with making up my own, perhaps smaller versions, for this post. Flower Trivet Stained Glass Mosaic

What a beautiful mosaic this is. Stained glass in hues of red, orange, light brown and yellow were hand cut into a flower. A small pewter cabochon flower in the center and silver mirror are placed in this too.

Bright and beautiful. Cadmium orange acrylic was painted on the bottom and sides.

Round feet on the bottom.

Measures 12.5 inches

Stained Glass Mosaic, Mixed Media Art, Abstract, 12 Inches - $175

"A New Horizon"

The title of this is "A New Horizon". I imagine standing towards the edge of a cliff where I see grass, hills, water, sand and rocks. It's a new beginning, a fresh start and an inspiration in one 12 inch mosaic stained glass plate.

When this is turned it completely changes perspective but no matter how it's placed, it is quite beautiful.

Stained glass colors used are green/yellow, amber, white/light blue and aquamarine.

I love making mosaics on discarded items; transforming them into something beautiful and unusual. Such is the case for this mosaic. Very small hand cut pieces of stained glass are placed on a discarded 12 inch microwave plate and grouted.

This plate is meant to be shown in sunlight. I used to call these plates sun catchers, but traditionally sun catchers are hung in the window to grab the light. My plates are heavy and hanging is not recommended nor do I craft them for that purpose. They look fantastic sitting in the window in a display dish holder (not included).
