"Autumnal Bliss" on Society6

'Autumnal Bliss'
Beautiful Fall Maple Leaves
This is my favorite time of year. The autumn leaves bring cooler temperatures (we call it sweater weather) and the smells of wood burning in neighboring fireplaces pierce the air. The squirrels go crazy when they see pumpkins on porches and eat until they are fat and ready to nap --- often right inside the pumpkin they've nibbled on for hours. The wind swirls the leaves around the ground making them dance, dodge and weave. It's magical.

Now available on society6 is a new photo taken recently of the delightful trees in our immediate area here in PA.

Shown here in a frame, as an iPhone case, tote, pillow cover and shower curtain, 'Autumnal Bliss' would make a great gift for anyone. Think of the people on your list this holiday season and head on over to Cindy White Photo Art today.

In The Studio

There's lots to share today, so let's get to it!

The custom order is coming to an end and I've experienced a few mixed emotions along the way. I love being productive and if you've followed this blog for a while you usually see a lot of different things I do to stay happy and creative. When work comes to an end, I often get a bit depressed or sad that it's over. But I'm also ready to take a break and begin on something new!

The last 3 pieces in the custom order are now in the "to be grouted" pile waiting for glue to dry. This might take a while. I used Weldbond, a white glue that dries clear, on my glass-on-glass pieces and the milky white glue stays milky for a while. It can also look clear but go back to milky white when grouted. It often takes a very long time (months) for the glue to completely turn back to clear. I know it will change eventually, luckily it always has, but I want to wait another week before grouting the 2 vases that show obvious signs of wet glue. Each day a little more on each of the white spots becomes clear. Another week will do it!

When it came time to work on the last 2 vases, I was a little unclear as to what I wanted to do with them. Sometimes grabbing a lot of glass scraps and letting it sit in front of me for a while, allows my muse to figure out a specific design to use.

Blue-green and frosted iridescent glass were the muse's choices.

Confetti glass, a favorite of mine, was placed on this vase in large nipped chunks. If you look closely, you can see the milky white of the glue in this photo which was taken a few days ago. There is less of this visible this morning but it's not completely dry yet.

Next came the peace sign. The last item in the custom order.

The only request the customer made was to use blue mirror glass in some way on it.

Many of the items still in need of grouting are sitting all together here along with a grouted vase.
The swirls around the peace sign were done in the blue mirror. I've filled in around that with complimentary blues in a few various shades.

While waiting for glue to dry, I can seal the light switch plate covers and grout the yellow vase this weekend.

I took some new photos of a group of bottles I've decided to sell as a set of 3. My daughter recently surprised me with "just because" flowers (the upside to her job in the floral department) in pinks, white and blue using food coloring to get the bold colors she wanted. The flowers (seen in the above photo with the peace sign) made a great back drop for my new photos.

Coming Soon! Set of 3 mosaic bottles - all in blue.
I've got some new items to share from the 2nd Etsy shop. My favorite for this week: "Groovy Pear". I really love this print. I hope you all do too!

Trendy Tuesday

I've been making a lot of "thank you" treasuries and have many more to do as the days move closer to the weekend. This one is probably my favorite from the treasury making frenzy I had last night.

Enjoy the Moments

My contribution to the feel of the above items is on society6.com this week, using my photo "Red".

Weekend Wrap Up

It's been a busy week, yet again. I'm really enjoying the pace too. Things are happening here!

I got the glass ordered for the custom flag mosaic through Mosaics By Maria who has the best turn around time and always reasonably priced. This site is the first place I go to find glass tiles for my mosaics. LOVE it.

And the crosses are waiting for grout. I'm so happy to see them all together like this.

Orders have been arriving for pillow covers and tote bags. One cover was featured in a blog by Wuglyees right here on blogger. Yay! Check out their Etsy shop and the blog too.

Halloween brought a new Featured Shop - YviBJonesCeramics of ceramic goodies from Etsy to feast on as well as a dedicated treasury, Warmth. Head on over to Etsy and visit Yvi's shop and check out the treasury too.

The end of October brings even more color to my world through the courtyard where I live. Beautiful, is it not?

A few more tote bags and one Christmas item has made it's way into my shop. My favorite newest tote bag is this one:

In The Studio

The studio has been hopping! It's been busy.

The custom order is going really well. I am enjoying the creative process as I always do when making mosaics. I'm really pleased with them.

I'm still adding totes, pillow covers and note cards onto Etsy. It's amazing how many people have mentioned how much they like my photos as pillows. I'm so happy about that, because I like them myself. I just added some of my favorite quotes.

Always Believe - Decorative Pillow Cover
I really like that one!

The Scrap Glass Cross (#7) that I shared recently as a new listing was sold this week! Woo-hoo! Time to make another one. I'm doing the happy dance about that because I really do love making scrap glass mosaics. Yay!

SOLD!

Weekend Wrap Up

Oh what a wonderful week it has been. The order went through for the 50 wooden cross ornaments all in blue stained glass. Which means as soon as they arrive, I am ready to go!

The most excitement was having so many sales that I actually had to print out a reminder of each process. I can honestly say I love having so many sales that I have to make a list to keep track. It is fleeting; it's special around this time of year for my shop because I do get a lot of attention. Holiday shoppers find me and like what they see. I don't blame them. Big grin. My handmade items make wonderful gifts.

Here's another look at some of what sold this week:

You may not think that's a whole heck of a lot, but for me, it's been a major sales event week!

I had a great week and am looking forward to another one. As the crosses arrive to be worked on, I know I'll be in the zone. I'm excited to get started on those ornaments! Yay!

As promised, I'm adding new photos to society6 today. Here's a few new ones that you may buy directly from society6's site.

Sun Shadows
The Nest
Mosaics were added this week on Etsy too. An owl, a cross and an upcycled mug. Flower Power was the theme for 2 out of 3 of them.
Pencil Holder // Candle Holder // Vase
Scrap Glass Cross
Flower Power Owl

I love the studio when it's busy. I love it when it's quiet. I love creating, I love dreaming about new creations. Life is filled with love. It's a wonderful thing.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. The grandchildren have left to attend a Halloween party today. Fun!
