Mosaic Monday - Crescent Moon Mosaic
Materials: stained glass, mirror, amethyst stones
Dimensions: Height: 12 Inches
Swirling Moon Amethyst has beautiful hues in purple and silver mirror in swirls. In a few spots, I placed small pieces of amethyst stones. All stained glass and mirror were hand cut by me. Grouted in plum, the sides and back are painted in a dark brown. There's a felt pad at the bottom back to protect your walls from scratches. A thin piece of jute allows it to hang easily on the wall.
Perfect for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, housewarming, holiday. Anyone who loves purple and celestial designs will absolutely LOVE this crescent moon.
Gift to a special someone or save it for yourself. As long as it's enjoyed, it's job is done.
My signature, a peace sign charm, has been added. A felt pad has been attached so the painted back will not scratch your walls. Signed and dated.
Indoor use only.

Let's Go Shopping!
Mosaic Bowl, Stained Glass, Mosaic, Glass Tiles, Orange, Light Brown, Tan, Blue, Bowl, For The Home, Housewarming, Great Gift-7 x 2.5 Inches - $50.00 USD |
I'm very proud of creating useful art. Here's a great example of how to recycle and reuse something. By recycling this bowl I've conserved valuable natural resources and saved something that would otherwise be buried in a landfill.
Give this as a wedding gift, offering the happy couple a sustainable gift as you hope their union will be. This should last for years if cared for properly. Add it to any room in your home. It can be used to hold stuff and things but remember it is first and foremost a piece of art.
Set it in the center of a table to make a statement. Place it at the door to let your friends and family see it the very minute they enter your home. Make a statement and always consider buying from an artisan. Support handmade.
Decorative purposes only. Not for long term storage for food or liquids. To clean this bowl you can run it under warm water with mild soap if necessary and wipe out with a damp sponge. Do NOT use harsh chemicals. Do NOT place in dishwasher or submerge in water.
This awesome bowl measures 2.5 inches high and 7 inches wide.

Let's Go Shopping!
Mosaic Stained Glass, Trivet, Candle Holder, Octagon, Mosaic Mirror, Earth Tones, For The Home, Gift Idea, Wedding, Anniversary - 6.5 Inches - $38.25 |
A plain, boring mirrored candle holder and/or trivet is now a piece of original mosaic art! A simple design in waves of stained glass in orange, amber, yellow and red weave throughout this 6-1/2 inch trivet. Felt pads on the bottom to protect your table or other surfaces.
The reflective qualities in this are outstanding. You can see from the photos the way the triangles are shown throughout the mirror underneath the glass. In bright light you have an amazing light show! The last photo shows how the mosaic looked before grout, still as a work-in-progress.
This mirrored trivet looks great sitting on a table with a lit candle in the center - reflections go everywhere. This would make a great wedding gift or housewarming gift. Give the gift of handmade art to those you love especially yourself!

In The Studio - Part Two
I hope you all are having a nice holiday and are enjoying the season. We are enjoying the relaxation time on the 26th that comes after the chaos on the 25th. It's definitely a day to stay in my jammies!
Santa brought some wonderful goodies for us this year. Nana's stocking was filled with gluten free treats (including brownie mix)!
We got a visit from my folks who came over to enjoy Christmas dinner with us. They know me well and gave me a bottle of wine and some chocolate. They loved their snowflake ornament from Little Dude as well. He beamed with pride when they said how much they loved it. He said: "I made it. Well ... Nana helped ...". He is the best part of every day for me but especially the best part of the holidays.
My folks also gave me a picture I drew some time around 1960-61, which would put me somewhere around my Grandson's age now. I love it!
The mosaic gifts I made were well received. Tara and Mark loved their mosaic very much.
The 4 inch mosaic tree ornaments are going to be available for sale as custom orders for next year. How to order yours on Storenvy will be posted here soon. You'll be able to order by color, give me an initial to be put on one side and a tree or dancing star for the other side. I'll take orders all year up until December 2015. If interested ordering early is the way to go!
Over the weekend I will head back towards the making of the mosaic sign. It is going fairly well but I'm struggling to find in my stash the right colors in stained glass to finish it. I'm almost out of that pretty light amber color I used for the center. I'm fairly sure the bottom section will have to be a different color. I'm just not sure what I have that will work with it but I'll figure it out!

Little Dude in his elf pj's. Christmas morning excitement! |
I gave it to my grandparents and drew myself, Mom and Dad, Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop plus the animals Tommy the cat and Pepper the dog. How fun is this?! |

Etsy News
Because I've joined a blogging challenge for October, I will be doing what I can (internet connection willing) to post every day, even on the weekends. To those who don't know, normally, I like to spend time with the fam and crafts on the weekends but sharing is important too. And I do love to share. The posts won't be long-winded. I know I can get chatty sometimes. Hee-hee.
I'm starting to list pillow covers for Christmas and wanted to share the first one listed this morning.
Isn't this photo pretty? I've got cards coming soon with the same print. Watch for those.

Please be aware, each item from my photo prints goes to a lab for printing and processing. I have them sent back to me for inspection and ship them off to you. This takes time. I estimate 2-3 weeks but normally it takes about 2 weeks, I am learning. It still means you have to plan ahead a little when ordering. I've noticed some folks don't take the time to do this (I've been guilty of it myself on occasion) but reading over the policies on each description provided in a tab within the listing is a great way to find out important information. Take the time to read it, please, before ordering anything in my shop not just photo printed items to familiarize yourself with them. Thanks!
What a pleasant surprise to see Deb Babcock from BlueSkyPotteryCO, my featured shop from last week, pay it forward in adding my most popular pillow cover to date into a treasury she curated called "Morning OJ". How cool is that?!
