September Sales Event Starts Today!

Happy September!

I've been recuperating from a recent illness and taking some time off to allow the muse to rest and rejuvenate.

The g-kids are all back in school now and the pace here at home is a lot slower during the day. There are actual long periods of time where there is NO sound at all. It's amazing.

While I was resting, I joined a group on Facebook. The CREATIVE CRAFTWORKS Group is a collective group of handmade artisans. I've just joined and already feel part of their family. It's a wonderful feeling!

The vendors (myself included) are having their monthly Sales Event and I wanted to share the info with you here.

Running from this afternoon, September 8th at 4 PM EST until September 10th, this Sales Event is pretty cool. If you use Facebook, please consider joining the group and visiting the event.

Here's some items that will be for sale created by the vendors in this group.

And here's my contribution!

It's always a great time to shop for someone special or for yourself because you're special too!

Head on over to the Facebook Group and join in the fun!

In The Studio - Part One

My muses and I have been resting quite a bit these days but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. Yay!

All of the people who took part in the Facebook giveaway have gotten their packages. I'm pleased to say all of them are keeping them. Here's what all 10 look like before placed in the hand decorated boxes I shared last week:

And here's a few of the cutest kids ever modeling the mosaics in their new homes. LOVE these!!

"We love it. It's so beautiful! Thank you sooo much"

"Love, love, love my gift from Cindy! What amazing talent and workmanship! Thank you so much for including me!!

Some of the comments were so nice. "Just opened my package from Earth Mother Mosaics and I LOVE it ..." All-in-all I'd say it was a success and something I will do again in the future. Keep an eye out for it because you could be a lucky recipient of a future mosaic by me one day soon, for FREE!

I've mostly just begun to get going again with fun mosaic projects. Lots to grout still but am taking that very slowly to make sure I don't hurt myself. And sometimes the muse just wants to play with glass!

Sometimes I want to draw.

Sometimes I want to take a few photos.

But mostly, I want to add glass, mirror and bits and pieces and get this crazy scrap glass mosaic butterfly wall art.

I'm working on a small piece of MDF right now getting a mosaic flower design on it. I want to work on bigger projects but don't really have the substrates at the moment to accomplish that. So, working small is good.

Working is good. Life is good! I'm feeling very grateful and more than a little blessed to still be able to do what I love to do, when I want to do it no matter the obstacles!

In the Studio - Part One

I've been working for such a long time without much sleep or much of a pause that I've given myself the week off! It feels great to just do nothing sometimes and rest. Plus the muse is happy for the ebb so more creativity can flow soon.

Meanwhile, I managed to get the giveaway mosaics all packed up and will be getting postage added to the boxes later this week! Woo-hoo!

I added some cool doodles to a few sides of the boxes. As soon as all mosaics have been received, I'll share them here.

Have a peaceful week.

In The Studio - Part One

The grouting sessions have begun for the small 4 x 4 inch artist blocks I put mosaics on. These 10 blocks are going to different parts of the US in August from PA, KY, FL, TX and PR just to name a few. I'm thrilled to see them coming to life.

Each design is different in the center and I'd like the recipients to be surprised by what they see when these arrive. I will share a photo of what each center design looks like once I know the recipient received their block. The sides are all done in scrap glass for all 10. After I took this photo I got out the cleaning and scraping tools and went to work getting rid of the grout shown here in places (like the orange and white millefiori circle, for example).

I'll be grouting and cleaning for the entire month of July. Each day is different for me due to pain management. On days when I think I can grout and clean, I will do as much as I can. Then I rest for a few days. It's amazing how much mobility and strength I've lost over the winter and spring months.

I've finished and sent out the custom ordered peace sign!

after grouting - what a beauty!

the sides were covered in tiles and grout too

after painting sides and back and adding the D-ring

It was a complete joy to make this mosaic and I was a bit surprised by my sadness once I packed it up and shipping it out yesterday. I'm sad to see it go but happy it's headed to its forever home. Mourning the mosaics I make is not unusual but it doesn't happen often. And always takes me by surprise.

I worked on a scrap glass mosaic peace sign last week. Once grouted, it will be added to the online store.

10 inch scrap glass mosaic peace sign

I grouted the mosaic I made of the umbrella using cut up bits of doodle paper under glass. It came out really great. I like it!

This will eventually get added to Storenvy as well. Woo-hoo!

I also have 2 extra 4 x 4 inch artist blocks and I pulled one out to work on the other day. I grouted that and got it painted. I need a good camera day so I can list this one. Hopefully that will happen when the sun comes out again.

Flash photography isn't my favorite but it does show the different blue and white dish tiles I used in this. I used the chintz design and blue willow design along with orange stained glass. The design has a Japanese Maple leaf look to it, although I had no plans for that when I started. I LOVE when that happens!!

In The Studio - Part Two

Yesterday I started working on a new mosaic.

These dish tiles are dark blue although they look black here. The stamp on the back calls this design "Country Cupboard". The shape is one of 4 cutting boards I asked my Dad to donate to the mosaic cause he had made in the 1950's.

I love these dishes and their flower design and have used them in mosaics in the past.

All 3 of these mosaics are available through Storenvy.

The fun thing about working on this particular mosaic is sharing it online and having it sold before it got further than what you see above. I LOVE when that happens!

My daughter and son-in-law from IL came to visit us this week. I shared photos on Facebook of the fam and one of the most unflattering photos of me I've seen in the longest time. Triple chins and exhaustion aside, I'm sitting next to 2 people I love and my 7 year old Grandson took the picture, so what can I do? I must share.

The "Doodle Fairy" is still with me. I'm going to save this one for the new pens headed my way today.

I'm diggin' it!

In The Studio - Part Two

I've packed up the peace signs and waved buh-bye. They are leaving the building today, I hope, and heading on to their new home in North Dakota.

The kidlets are home from school for Spring break until next week. I don't have to do a lot of wrangling now that the oldest can babysit her siblings but I'm here when they need me while Mom and Dad are working.

Yesterday the weather warmed up enough for them to head on out into the courtyard of our apartment complex and play. It was great to see them running around from my window.

I'm taking a small break between projects waiting on supplies for more doodling and mosaic work. It's good to rest and allow the muse to get ready for the next wave of creativity.

The next project for the crafts table is the free mosaic gifts I'll be making for 10 people who responded to the call on Facebook. I'll be doing another giveaway again soon, I'm fairly sure, because I like doing them. I don't donate much work any longer and leaving art abandoned is hard to do now that I'm no longer driving, so this is the perfect solution for me. At least I know those that receive these free mosaics will either gift it or keep it and enjoy it.

If you want to get in on the next giveaway let me know (US residents only at this time, sorry about that) either here or through one of the many other social media spots I frequent which can be found on the right. --->

And don't forget to sign up for the EMM Monthly Newsletter!! Subscribers get some awesome perks!

I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. Enjoy the moments!

FACEBOOK ANNOUNCEMENT

ANNOUNCEMENT: This is the last day I'll be sharing links to my shop on Storenvy through my Facebook Page due to the new rules recently issued through Facebook. I can't afford to buy ads through this site, which means I can no longer show you links of where I sell my work on it.

Instead, on my FB page, I will share photos and share info on what I do and how I do it. Similar to what I am now doing, only no links will be included.

At this time, I'd like to ask those customers and folks who like seeing what I do once in a while on Facebook, to please private message me with an email address where I can stay in touch to show you links of new items, sale items or share a coupon code. I will be using my email address: earthmothermosaics@yahoo.com and send all who sign up, a monthly newsletter showing you all things relating to links of new items through Storenvy, Society6 and Zazzle.

I know this will take time and you might not want to share your email address with me. I understand this entirely and would never spam anyone intentionally. But it may be the only way you will see what I am selling on Storenvy, etc.

For those folks who have purchased items through Etsy you will be receiving an email from me soon asking you to consider signing up for the monthly newsletter. Keep an eye out for it and please respond before the end of January.

If I'm reading the info correctly, I will still be able to share my blog posts for free. In case that changes, I would suggest signing up for blog posts soon. You can sign up for posts to be delivered to your email address and never miss a thing!

Meanwhile, as always, I will continue to create art and enjoy myself while doing it. Nothing's changed except how I can share what I do. Those who are interested in continuing to see what I create, please send me a message and I'll put you on the list.

The newsletter begins in the second week of February.

Thanks so much for your attention and consideration! As always, enjoy the moments.
