Another Fun Week Ends

It's been a great week here in my studio. I love the productive days when the muse keeps me motivated and creative.

The purple glass is on the vase and I love it!

When I finished this up yesterday, I thought for sure I'd want to use black grout. As a matter of fact I was positive. And this morning, after looking at the colors and how bright and cheery the flowers are even without grout, I knew I'd have to go with white. I'm happy with that decision. I should grout either later this afternoon or tomorrow, so look for photos over on my Facebook page or shared here on Monday.

One more pendant went "live" this morning on Etsy. This pretty mosaic heart art pendant has been added to the Jewelry section.

I'm still dot painting the large bottle I showed yesterday. I really do enjoy making them, although some think I'm being sarcastic when I say they are fun. I honestly do think they are fun to do!

There's no sun today to help show the progress on the bottle. I'll wait until it's finished and perhaps the sun will be out long enough to get some good photos.

Mosaic Flower Power Vase - Work-in-Progress

The vase is getting completed a bit slowly. I'm using DAP adhesive for this one and while I could literally mosaic for hours and hours without a break, it is best to give the room a chance to air out and keep the window open for ventilation while working with it. It is a sneaky one, doesn't have a really strong aroma until it's been used for a while. I used to wear a mask when I worked with it but have given away all the masks I had to others who needed them. I think it's time to replace them so I can work for longer periods of time with my favorite adhesives.

Be that as it may, the vase is coming along nicely. I have only a few more flowers to fill in.

I was undecided about filling in the background until this morning. I know what glass I want to use to fill in around the flowers and am pleased that I made the decision. Although I do love leaving the flowers as they are with grout (of course) for this vase, the glass I picked to go around it will be perfect and finish it beautifully.

There are many ways to do these flowers. Typically, I use glass and mirror but I'm looking at my dish shards with a different eye these days and I do believe I'll have to try making a flower power mosaic using broken dishes, stained glass and mirror. That should be fun!

I listed 2 new things this morning on Etsy. Another pendant and another painted bottle. The bottle's name is "Stormbringer". It was made when we were having a lot of storms in our area and it is a song title by Deep Purple, a group popular in the 1960's and responsible for much of my enjoyment when I am at the crafts table now.

Flower Power Continues

I just love this design. Always have, always will. I believe it is the one design that makes me happiest to do. Next in line is the peace sign.

Bright colors make me smile. I'm quite happy with how this is turning out.

This was yesterday's work. Today should yield at least 2 more flowers completed.

I'm happy with how this is looking. Haven't yet decided if I'm filling in around the flowers to cover the vase with glass or if I'm going to attempt to try to just grout the flowers. More of a challenge for sure but I will know what I want to do once all the flowers are done.

I listed another pendant today. I think this is so pretty. And perfect for any female, any age.

Mosaic Pendant, Broken Dish Art, Peach Iridescent White Flower, Art Pendant, Wearable Art, Broken China Mosaic Pendant

All of my art pendants are $25. I was recently told I should raise the price but I don't want to! I think this price is the right one for me and offers the customer a chance to get a piece of wearable art at a reasonable price. So there!
