Featured Shop - Light and Ladder

lightandladder

As I've often mentioned when doing my Featured Shop posts, every so often a shop catches my eye with unusual items which are simple and so well crafted that I need to share what I've found. This shop, lightandladder, is a perfect example.

I'm in LOVE with the decorating aspects of her ceramics. And for those who like to have things made especially for them, have no fear! They accept custom orders!

Farrah Sit from Brooklyn is the artisan behind Light and Ladder. In her words: "I love creating strikingly simple designs that speak to their intended purpose. Attention to detail, honesty to material, craft and form is what drives me. The ceramics are handcrafted in Farrah's studio in Brooklyn, NY. "

Places to connect: Find her through her personal website and the business website. I recommend bookmarking both and visit often. Don't forget to give some love to the Etsy shop too!

Featured Shop - Butterflykilns

Butterflykilns

fun and functional ceramics for your everyday use

Citrus Plate and Bowl Set

My online friend, Carolyn of Butterflykilns, makes some of the best ceramics items for everyday use. She uses her own whimsical illustrations and bright contrasting colors on each piece.

I adore her ceramics and her use of color in them. I am pleased to have a trinket box in my room made by her. It holds some secret treasures and makes me smile every time I look at it.

It is with great pleasure that I share her shop with you all today. Take a look at her pieces below and you'll understand why.

It looks like she's having an awesome CLEARANCE Sale in her Etsy shop and it's a great time of year to gather some handmade gifts together for birthdays, anniversaries and "just because you deserve a treat" gifts.

I'm sharing a few of my favorite items from her shop with you here. Aren't these awesome?!

Thank you, Carolyn, for creating such awesome pottery! I LOVE it all!!

I added one of my favorite items to an Etsy Treasury last night. Check it out.

Featured Shop for October 31, 2013 - Yvi B Jones Ceramics

YviBJonesCeramics

I truly have so much virtual love for Yvi and her talent. We have become cyber buddies over the past year+ and I am the proud owner of a ceramic sunflower necklace created by her. When she shares the love she doesn't hold back; featuring my items in many of her teams' treasuries. She is one of the sweetest people I've ever chatted with through the internet. I feel so fortunate to have found her and her shop filled with delightfully made ceramic gifts, home decor items and jewelry. It is my honor to share her shop on Etsy with you today.

My favorite pieces look so delicate as if created out of tatting or lace. Her story is beautifully told in her own words on Etsy here. Go ... read ... learn all about the magic behind these ceramic pieces.

And now for the best part ... sharing photos of a few of my favorites. Yay!

Featured Shop for October 3, 2013 - BlueSkyPotteryCO

Handmade Pottery and Ceramics by Deb Babcock

Handmade Art Bowls

I'm excited to share my Featured Shop for the week! It's been 6 months since I've done one. Wow!

Picking the first Featured Shop since March this year, was not a problem. BlueSkyPotteryColorado is a great shop to kick off this weekly event.

Deb Babcock, the hands behind the pottery, is one of my favorite shops on Etsy and Zibbet. Her work has been featured in a few publications, most notably Better Homes and Gardens in March 2013. You can also find her art in several galleries and gift shops around the country and there's no wonder why. Her pottery is whimsical, earthy and user friendly.

Deb's pottery has that wonderful quality that caught my eye of handmade-from-the-soul-peacefulness about it. I love art that speaks to my hippie soul. I love art even more if it can be useful for the home.

BlueSkyPotteryCO has home/garden decor, ceramic cups and tumblers, bowls big and small, serving/baking dishes available for purchase. Take a look at some of my favorites below. Click on any link under the photos to take you to Deb's shop on Etsy.

Let us know what you think about Deb's awesome pottery. We think you will LOVE it!

Want to learn more about Deb and her art? Here are places to find and connect with Deb Babock the gifted artisan behind Blue Sky Pottery of Steamboat Springs, CO:

(go to her "About" page here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueSkyPotteryCO/about )

On a personal note, my computer finally took it's last spin around the social media scene last evening. I may have a slower reaction time to checking email, writing posts here and all the rest, but I'll do what I can. If you'd like to help with the fund raiser, which I've decided to leave up even though I've announced many times I was going to close it, you can read about it, donate, share the link from here: http://www.gofundme.com/49qepk

Thank you and sorry to take the limelight, so well deserved, from Deb!
