I'm working on my Etsy listings tweeking the titles and descriptions (with a little help from AI!) and have quite a few to go yet. However, this one is updated and was smiling at me prettily so I thought I'd share.

A very retro peace sign created in funky hand cut vintage dish tiles and ceramic half circles. A great representation of Mid Century Modern designs! Perfect for anyone, any room, any time of year, all year long.

A big boomerang shape in the center is the focal point and that's where it started. I filled this peace sign with as much as I could. Many hand cut small pieces of vintage dishes surround this 12 inch peace sign. Grouted in grey. The back is painted in a hand mixed color in brown and grey. A saw tooth hanger on the back makes this mosaic ready to hang.

Signed and dated.

10 inch peace sign - $100.50

This is such a pretty peace sign created using vintage dishes belonging to family members. Once truly loved and used, now becomes mosaic art to love once more.

Bright and colorful! Perfect for anyone, any room, any time of year, all year long.

A big blue glass half circle is the focal point and that's where it started. I really love the color combination here - it could fit nicely in any room in your home.

Grouted in white. I left the sides and back alone after initially painting it with white primer before I started putting these hand cut vintage dish tiles on. I like how the white grout and the white around the edges blend well together. You can see some of the original MDF peaking through in spots that somehow enhances the look for me. I hope you feel that way as well.

A saw tooth hook is attached as well a felt pad to protect the wall from scratches. Signed and dated.

My Mosaic Romance Continues

I am very happy to be creating mosaics once more in the Purple Palace. It's all set up with the right work table, the old tools and a new task light just ready to go!

I thought I'd start with a 6 inch peace sign to get the juices flowing again.

I really enjoyed mosaic making once more.

I was definitely in the zone for this 6 inch peace sign. I glued the glass down in one sitting. It took approximately 2 hours and is now sitting in the "to be grouted" pile.
 

 

Pretty groovy, huh. Isn't the collage paper under the mosaic cool too? Definitely Bohemian colors! I love it!

It's headed to Etsy at some point, along with a few more peace signs that are waiting for some mosaic magic. ☮ 🥳

 Stained Glass Mosaic made on a recycled microwave plate. Recycling at it's best!

I found the inspiration for this through a coloring app online, changing it a bit adding my own EarthMother vibe to it.

 Measures 13 inches.

It was made using hand cut stained glass, some iridescent. A few pieces are from a broken drinking glass (the yellow center in each design). This took approximately 3 weeks to complete from start to finish.

Fabulous Friday - Mosaic Coasters

Mosaic Coasters

 

Beautiful mosaic two coaster set made using an unusual assortment of tempered or crash glass, acrylic paint and glitter. The grout is white and gives these coasters a truly magical appearance.

The photos show the work-in-progress creating these coasters, starting with the paint, glitter, adding tempered glass and finally the finished product after grouting.

These coasters could also be used as individual candle holders or displayed in a sunny window so that the light shines spreading rays of light throughout any room.

Each coaster is 4 in. x 4 in. Do not submerge in water.

The bottom of the coasters have small felt pads to keep your furniture from scratching.

Can be used outdoors but do not leave in weather; rain or temperature changes. They are not weather-proof.

Wednesday - What Day?

What Day? posts are free-forming thoughts and possible things going on in the studio and personally.

Right now, I'm not creating at all which is fine. I am in flux at the moment, hoping to share more info within the next month or so. Life is changing, for the better, but it's too soon to spill the beans just yet!

So, while I rest and reorganize and recuperate from regular life stuff and things, I believe I'll share the eclectic array of art from my Etsy shop for the next month or so. There's enough to share, that's for sure!

Today, I thought I'd share my Bohemian Flower Mosaic Wall Art because it's a favorite of mine and it's kinda cool.

Mosaic Flower, Bohemian style. I took an old MDF shelf heading toward the recycling bin and drew a flower on it, adding stained glass and recycled mirror making this groovy piece of mosaic art. The flower has an orange 1/2 circle in the center, iridescent glass and recycled mirror highlighting the brown, green, orange and red glass. Pretty pieces of mirror in swirls attach to the flower. Background is in black with spots here and there of colors of glass used in the flower. A small peace sign in the corner is my signature, and I've signed the back and dated it as well.

The back has 2 D-rings with a wire for easy and sturdy hanging. 2 felt pads are attached to the bottom to protect your walls from getting scratched by the MDF wood.

All hand cut pieces, done at the time of creation, this 11 x 16 inch wall hanging is quite an impressive addition to anyone's home or office.

I enjoy taking things headed toward the landfill and creating something unique with them. Broken pieces of mirror and the shelf itself, were salvaged and reused.

Mosaic Monday - Mosaic Flower Pattern Plate

Mosaic Flower Pattern Plate, Trivet, Candle Holder, Mosaic Plate, Flower Art, Dish Shard Art, Great Gift, Housewarming, Mothers Day

 

 Hand cut dish tiles were used to create a pretty pink and green flower with an even prettier pink flower in the center, surrounded by white.

This ordinary plate was once just like all its sisters and brothers ... a dark blue rim just like all the others. It was used and purposeful, but it felt it was missing something. It wanted to be something else ... but what?!

Now this plain old plate has a new purpose: to spread the joy of handmade mosaic art wherever it goes. Gift it, keep it, it doesn't matter what you do with it but you must, by all means, enjoy it. The photos on my website show the work put into the mosaic as a work-in-progress and as a finished piece of art.

Place this in a stand on a table in any room in your home. Could be used flat on a table or other surface as a candle holder, a coaster, a decorative accent. Not recommended for food.

Do not place in the dishwasher, however, it can be rinsed in warm water. Wipe with a clean cloth. If you need to use soap, use a mild one. This is to make sure it won't cause the grout to crack and chip off.

I love recycling old dull plates and making art with them. Using a plate that already has a nifty frame around it, as these plates do, makes it easy and fun to create my mosaic designs. I will never tire of finding new ways to use old things destined for the trash.

The plate itself measures close to 7 inches, the design inside the plate is about 6-1/2 inches.

Mosaic Monday - Stained Glass Moon Phases

This mosaic stained glass moon phases vase is truly a work of art. Each side has a phase of the moon's progress as it cycles throughout a month. The moon is done in iridescent white glass. The top is a beautiful deep blue, the center is in a bright orange and the bottom is in an even deeper purple. Place this near a light source or use as a candle holder to see the colors distinctly.

I think this would make anyone who loves moon art very happy. Use it in conjunction with the phases of the moon, turning it each time a new phase comes. Fill it with flowers in the center of a table or alter.

Gift to a best friend for their birthday. Makes a great wedding gift. Anyone who has a meditation practice with an alter would love this. WE love this! <3

Mosaic Monday - Crescent Moon and Sun Stained Glass Mosaic Plate

Crescent Moon and Sun Stained Glass Mosaic Plate

 

Materials: stained glass, glass plate

Width: 10 inches

Moon and Sun Mosaic Stained Glass Plate. Created on an old glass dish, the vibe for this moon and sun is definitely hippie inspired. Bohemian styled and in honor of my teenage years, growing up in the 60's and 70's, as a flower child in spirit. This plate is extremely groovy.

One of my absolute favorites to create in mosaic form, moons and suns always make me happy. Fits in anywhere within the home or even a small apartment. Perfect for someone just starting out and/or ready to retire. Appeals to all ages, young and old.

We love this style; we love the energy that comes with this design. We love creating moons and suns in mosaics! It is the middle ground between the light of the sun and the darkness of night, and thus often represents the realm between the conscious and the unconscious. The circular shape alone is a symbol of the never ending circle of life. Placing a half moon and half sun inside the circle supplies even more meaning. The sun is often recognized as a symbol of rebirth, strength and power.

Gift to someone for a birthday, as a Mother's Day or Father's Day gift, graduation, anniversary, wedding. Anyone who meditates and likes to sit peacefully focusing on an object can use this mosaic to help them go to a higher place within their mind.

Plate measures 10 inches and is a recycled dish given to me when I first moved to PA with my young children. It was used, loved and retired waiting for some mosaic magic. We're happy to share this with you!
