Flower Power Continues

I just love this design. Always have, always will. I believe it is the one design that makes me happiest to do. Next in line is the peace sign.

Bright colors make me smile. I'm quite happy with how this is turning out.

This was yesterday's work. Today should yield at least 2 more flowers completed.

I'm happy with how this is looking. Haven't yet decided if I'm filling in around the flowers to cover the vase with glass or if I'm going to attempt to try to just grout the flowers. More of a challenge for sure but I will know what I want to do once all the flowers are done.

I listed another pendant today. I think this is so pretty. And perfect for any female, any age.

All of my art pendants are $25. I was recently told I should raise the price but I don't want to! I think this price is the right one for me and offers the customer a chance to get a piece of wearable art at a reasonable price. So there!

Dot Painting and Mosaic Pendants

For the past few days I've been dealing with a stomach bug generously passed on by the children I live with. They are so sweet, aren't they?

Over the weekend, before I was sick, I got some great photos of all the things I made and grouted last week. That means they've been listed! Woo-hoo!

I'm still not sure I'm fond of the way the new Etsy layout looks however no one asked me for an opinion. As with all things having to do with online media, as they change, I adapt. I'm sure I will wonder how I ever managed looking through the shops with the old way before too long.

Now that I'm sort of back on track, I have some cool photos of what I did before and after laying flat for a day and a half. :)

I dot painted all the 4 x 2 inch MDF crosses I wanted to paint, which was 20 of them. I'm very pleased with them and plan to get small screw eye bails to attach to the top so they can be hung up or worn. Hopefully these will work when the other group of 20 small crosses have mosaics on them too.

Yesterday, in the early evening, I felt good enough to play with some pendants. They are a good distraction when I don't feel good; giving me something to do that's creative and not focus on how I am feeling. And they get made quickly so I have the instant gratification of seeing them completed before moving onto the next.

I'm not sure all will get grouted, but many will.

And that covers the last few days. Today I hope to start on a few different things. While resting I came up with a few ideas for some substrates I had sitting next to me. That's the good part about sleeping in the same room that I call a studio! Inspiration is never too far away. However I could just keep making pendants for another day. They really are so much fun to mosaic!

Whatever I decide, it's good to have the energy to do it all again! Yay! Enjoy your day.

Gifted

I am feeling very blessed and a tad special today.

An online friend contacted me on Saturday to let me know a box of goodies she no longer wanted was headed my way. I've been gifted by her before and am always thrilled when she sends me a note letting me know I'm going to be gifted again.

I'm feeling so blessed. How thrilling is it to have so many ways to receive the supplies I need to continue my crafty quest? I always, somehow, get exactly what I need to keep going.

I am most humbled to receive these gifts. Especially when someone, for no particular reason, sends me things they think I can use.

This awesome box of goodies arrived yesterday. It was 9 lbs of jewelry supplies, small glass tiles and tumbled glass, rocks and fused pieces. I took some photos (sorry the 1st one is a tad fuzzy but you get the idea) to show you a little sample of what I received. So much was gifted that I couldn't get them all in a photo.

Gold, bronze, copper, silver plated, pewter, glass, chains, cords, wire. This box was filled with inspiration. Amazing. The day before, when I worked on the pique assiette pendants, I was almost out of pendants and thought: I'm glad I have the few pendants I have to allow the muse to play today. And now, the muse can dance and play for months!

My generous friend told me, when I thanked her through my teary eyes, that a little voice told her to send it all to Cindy. How much do I love her and that little voice?!

I'm running late today. It's good that I am not on a ridged schedule. That's the best part about being forced to retire sooner than I was planning on it. I can do what I want once my kids and grandkids are content for the day.

Not everything got finished yesterday that was on my "to do" list but a few things were accomplished.

The mosaic wall art is resting and will be grouted in black this weekend. I really love the green glass where the blue was. The painted colors under it give it the effect I wanted and saw in my head.

Ready for grout!

I'll share glam shots of this grouted, framed and hung on my wall before it gets shipped off.

Last night I updated some pendant listings on Etsy. Some of them come with a faux suede cord now, I'm pleased to say. It's been a while since I've been able to offer cords with my wearable mosaic jewelry. Not all the pendants have bails large enough to fit these cords but those that do were rephotographed and some have been edited.

I'm slowly getting through the last few vintage items for Zibbet. Here's a sneak peek of something that's not yet been listed.

This needs to be measured, a few more photos edited before it gets listed.  I love ceramic pitchers. I'd have a large collection of vintage and new if I had the space. Some day ...
