Mosaic Monday

Mosaic Stained Glass Candle Holder, Mosaic Vase, Mosaic Star, Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, Collectible, Glass-on-Glass - 3.5 x 3.4 inches

Twinkle, twinkle little star. Surrounded by beautiful gold glitter and tempered glass or crash glass, this beautiful candle holder sparkles so very brightly in daylight or by candlelight. Perfect to use with a candle as a centerpiece on your table. Winter doesn't have to be dreary if you use this gorgeous candle holder to brighten up any room in your home. Perfect for all seasons!

Those who collect stars are sure to appreciate this candle holder as a fun gift to add to their collection.

Wouldn't this 3-1/2 inch candle holder make a great one-of-a-kind housewarming or hostess gift? Wouldn't it be great for your home office or at the work place? It holds more than a candle. It could be used for pens, pencils, fresh flowers ... all with a touch of class. Use it at home with a candle for a romantic feeling or when, after a long day, you need to relax with some wine and this beautiful star with a candle in it while in the tub. The candle light makes the glitter under the glass glow a brilliant luminosity. Sit it in a sunny spot near a window and watch the sparkle! It's gorgeous!! It would be a wonderful surprise for anyone's birthday, make a special anniversary or retirement gift. Don't forget to gift yourself! You deserve it!

Fits any decor making it a great wedding gift or a wonderful treat for yourself. This is a mosaic that is functional as well as a useful art piece. Votive and tea lights fit easily in this holder.

DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER OR PLACE IN THE DISHWASHER.

Let's Go Shopping!

One of my favorite mosaics is being featured here today. This is one of the newest listings I have on Etsy.

Star Mosaic Wall Art, Mosaic Wall Hanging, For The Home, Star, Small Mosaic Art, Retirement, Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Collectible
$30.00 USD

A bright star in silver mirror with a cool red and silver center focal piece of decorative glass surrounded by red glass that was once a broken vase cover this 4-1/2 inch piece of mosaic wall art. The sides have silver mirror and are grouted. A nifty piece of twine is attached for hanging.

I personally love hanging these kinds of mosaics near a light source. Natural light is the best to get the sun's reflective qualities on the mirror. A light show like no other spread all across walls and ceiling on a bright and beautiful day.

This would work really well in a baby's room, small child's room either boy or girl. If your children share space: bedroom or play area, this would fit right in. Those who collect items made with stars, should love this mosaic wall art. This has a rustic quality to it looks great around a lot of wood as seen in the photos.

In The Studio - Friday

I did some grouting this week, sitting outside on the deck. Enjoying the sounds of birds and although it was a bit windy, it was a beautiful day. Well worth the occasional gusts of wind moving things around.

Star wall hanging and switch plate cover/outlet set ready for white grout.

Earth tones abstract wall art (rewards gift) and a 3 inch candle holder ready for light brown grout.

All of the mosaics had only a first wipe down when I took these photos. All have been cleaned much more thoroughly now.

The star wall art, candle holder and switch plate cover set will be listed on Etsy next week.

I have one more thing to grout before the pile is empty and I can start filling it up once more!

In The Studio - Wednesday

Can you believe it?! I am all caught up with grouting my mosaics! Yay!! That hardly ever happens!!

The glass vase is filled with purple, pink, green, white and black glass. The tree pot looks awesome and I'm so happy with how they both turned out. Both will get listed soon.

So now I had a little time to start a few small projects and start a fresh "to be grouted" pile.

The top is a small piece of holiday art. A silver mirrored star with red glass around it. There's a hanger on it which means it can be added to a wall or a door for decoration purposes.

The blue and white piece is more challenging to figure out, isn't it? The circle in blue (painters tape) is a mirror and the cup at the center of the base is for a tapered candle. I would like to add a hanger to this as well. Still not sure. I have 2 more of these wooden candle holders to play with. Each will probably be different.

Promo Blast!

3 Inch Round Ball Ornament - Custom Made - One Initial - Made To Order Item - Christmas In July - $40.00 each
Custom Made To Order Item - 3 Inch Round Ornament - Initial on one side Dancing Star or Holiday Tree on the other. Your choice in colors.

These spheres with a tree or dancing star on one side and an initial on the other make a great one-of-a-kind gift for everyone on your holiday list this year. How about that new baby in the family? Traditionally, these ornaments should last a very long time. Order a few and get a jumpstart on your holiday gift giving.

The glass/dishes color for filling in around the design can be any you'd like. Just let me know!

They have a ribbon for hanging and some cool details like ball chain around the ribbon. They may be covered in broken china or stained glass.

These are custom made to order. The price includes prep work and materials on one styrofoam ball for mosaic use, glass and the talent to make the magic!
The photos shown are the ones I made last year to give as an example as to how these will look when finished.

Last year in early December, I made some mosaic ornaments with an alpha initial shown in the photos here for each of the grandchildren and some extended family members' children for Christmas. They were such a big hit with the fam and I thought they turned out fairly well. Many customers asked if any were available for sale but the time necessary to make them can be up to 3 weeks if materials/supplies have to be ordered. And I couldn't offer them.
This year, I'm taking custom orders NOW for ornaments you'll want for Christmas, as part of the Christmas in July event happening in many online shops.

These ornaments will look slightly different from the photos shown here as all of my mosaics are not easily duplicated but the basics will be the same.

The only thing I will probably change in the design of these wonderfully unique ornaments is the bead attached to the hanger. I will work on a better system for hanging this year and probably won't use the bead but a small hook for the ribbon instead. Everything else should be the same!

Aren't they cool?!
Plan now to get handmade gifts for the holidays. These OOAK mosaics take time to create. Need more than one? No problem. Discounts available on multiple orders. Contact me for more details.

In The Studio - Part One

There's not much going on this week, in the studio. The muse and I are resting now that I've finished up the placing of glass and mirror and other fun things on the 10 small gifts for my Facebook buds.

I'm still having a lot of fun with doodles, drawing and coloring every day. I have taken an old book and turned it into an art journal, something I've wanted to do for a good long time now. Many of the pages will be pulled out to draw on, but some are staying in the journal.

Gesso (a primer) was added to the outside of the book which was then painted in my favorite color of green. The inside has gotten some gesso on it too. I glued a few pages together to give it some stability.

I have almost used up all the gelly rolls and gel pens! They don't last long when you use them every day. I did this Hamsa with gelly roll pens this week.

I added some watercolor crayons and pencils to my ever growing stash of art supplies.

Last night I finished up some of the pencil and pen drawings with lots of color!

I'm waiting for some awesome pens to arrive. Once they have, some doodles will be made using those only with no color necessary. I'm excited to start playing with them!

I've been looking over the substrates I have to mosaic to try to decide what to work on next. I will give it a few more days to allow the muse to rest a bit. I'm positive we'll get going on something very soon.

I've added quite a few fun things to Storenvy recently. I've taken some of my photos of doodles, mosaics and nature and made them into pillows, switch plate covers and grocery tote bags. Here's the newest grocery totes added yesterday.

Grocery Totes available on Storenvy

Look under the Home Decor and Pillows and Tote Bags sections to see more.
