A plain, boring mirrored candle holder and/or trivet is now a piece of original mosaic art! A simple design in waves of stained glass in orange, amber, yellow and red weave throughout this 6-1/2 inch trivet. Felt pads on the bottom to protect your table or other surfaces.

The reflective qualities in this are outstanding. You can see from the photos the way the triangles are shown throughout the mirror underneath the glass. In bright light you have an amazing light show!

Lotus Flower Mosaic Stained Glass Vase. Petals are in all different hues of blue in stained glass; all hand cut. The center is a piece of depression glass from a broken plate. Around the flower are green/blue and purple stained glass.

This is such a gorgeous mosaic vase. From top to bottom this mosaic is filled with small square and flower petal shaped hand cut pieces. I'm very proud of this vase and it's beauty. The mosaic muse really came through for us this time! Rich concentrated colors inhabit this beauty.

Use this vase with natural light when you meditate. It's a great mandala to study and creates a wonderful Zen feeling. Especially when a candle or lights are inside. Flowers look beautiful in this vase or it can sit on a shelf or windowsill and shine on it's own. Add some LED lights inside for a nice table setting or as added interest for a corner in any room. Pull this out for special occasions or use it every single day. We love useful and decorative art.

This vase is handmade with love and one of my favorite mosaic decor items to create and give.

Throwback Thursday

Made almost 2 years to the day, this pretty blue/green candle holder caught my eye as I was rearranging things in the blanket chest that is filled with bubble wrapped mosaics for Etsy.

I think I like this candle holder because of the appealing grout color. It's also got stunning stained glass on it; a favorite to use is the clear blue that reminds me of the ocean. There's just something about these colors that are soothing and relaxing and perfect for anyone, of any age.

From The Studio - Wednesday

I'm just about 100% better from the bug I had that led to a sinus infection (blah) that started a month ago. The great news is that while I was recuperating, my brain thought of some new things to make at the mosaics table!

This was a wall sconce. I have another one exactly like it, but wanted to make it something unique and unusual. Give it a new purpose. The lighting was horrid yesterday when I took these photos, so bear with me. I promise better photos soon if the sun comes through the rainy clouds.

A lot of pretty colorful mirror was added on the front and sides. This little elephant was part of a set of salt & pepper shakers with a huge crack at the top. I added a nifty hat (old earring) and propped him up on what used to be a holder for a tapered candle and you've got a fun piece of art. He's not attached to the mosaic yet. This will get grouted first and then I'll glue him in.

Next I worked on a round 6 inch piece of MDF wall art. A simple flower design in a patchwork fashion with gold mirror, glass tiles and stained glass. The white background is actually dish pieces.

This will definitely be grouted in black.

What's waiting at the table now is a small candle holder. I got a small sheet of blue stained glass a while back and wanted to score it into smaller pieces to use on the candle holder. I discovered my pistol grip oil filled glass cutter had a major leak and I couldn't use it. I remembered I had a plain old glass cutter but I've never used it before, so I practiced on clear glass for about 10 minutes and got the knack of how to use it. I did a fairly good job cutting up the pieces of this gorgeous glass!

The chamo background is a large amount of material I've had forever. When I need to cut glass I use it. Many use a towel, old piece of carpet, blanket and the like. This is what I had, so this is what I use!

Here's the color palette I'll use for the candle holder. All blues and blue greens. Yummy.

Grouting was done on the large candle holder and "Let It Snow" over the past weekend. As luck would have it, the person getting the candle holder was at a family gathering we had and so it was delivered to her by hand with much excitement and happiness.

Mosaic Monday

Yesterday while having a family gathering celebrating our 1 year old, I made a sale on Etsy. I have to say, as I often do, the best thing about selling through Etsy is the absolute joy of seeing the notification that I sold a mosaic. It always makes me stop and say "thank you" to the Universe. I am grateful and truly blessed to have a gift I enjoy tremendously and that others seem to like as well.

This is the mosaic that sold. It's a stained glass plate entitled "Pathways". As described in my shop: "I created this mosaic during a time of great personal stress in my life. I had many choices to make and they all seemed to get pushed around and connect, then disconnect. This piece of art is directly a result of the way I was thinking during that stressful time, trying to make sense of the next leg in my personal journey.

All the colors in stained glass, blending and contracting. Placed all together like this, they seem to flow easily which is exactly what happened in my own journey. Life is good!"
