Crescent Moon Mosaic

 

Materials: stained glass, mirror, amethyst stones

Dimensions: Height: 12 Inches

Swirling Moon Amethyst has beautiful hues in purple and silver mirror in swirls. In a few spots, I placed small pieces of amethyst stones. All stained glass and mirror were hand cut by me. Grouted in plum, the sides and back are painted in a dark brown. There's a felt pad at the bottom back to protect your walls from scratches. A thin piece of jute allows it to hang easily on the wall.

Perfect for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, housewarming, holiday. Anyone who loves purple and celestial designs will absolutely LOVE this crescent moon.

Gift to a special someone or save it for yourself. As long as it's enjoyed, it's job is done.

My signature, a peace sign charm, has been added. A felt pad has been attached so the painted back will not scratch your walls. Signed and dated.

Mosaic Crescent Moon in hand cut Van Gogh glass, yellow and green stained glass, green iridescent glass and silver recycled mirror.

The swirls in mirror are from top to bottom; the gorgeous Van Gogh glass (a clear glue chip glass that is painted on the back with metallic, automotive-type pigment) surround the gems and silver swirls. The green and yellow glass is added around the Van Gogh glass. Triangles of iridescent green glass follow the swirls. Your eyes will travel up and down this beauty. A long-time friend has dubbed this "Moon Beams". Perfect!

Painted in black acrylic on the back. Measures 10 inches.

Mosaic Stained Glass Plate, Mosaic Plate, Moon and Sun Mosaic, Bohemian Art, Bohemian Decor, Hippie Art, Hippie Style, Mosaic Sun and Moon

Moon and Sun Mosaic Stained Glass Plate. Created on an old glass dish, the vibe for this moon and sun is definitely hippie inspired. Bohemian styled and in honor of my teenage years, growing up in the 60's and 70's, as a flower child in spirit. This plate is extremely groovy.

One of my absolute favorites to create in mosaic form, moons and suns always make me happy. Fits in anywhere within the home or even a small apartment. Perfect for someone just starting out and/or ready to retire. Appeals to all ages, young and old.

We love this style; we love the energy that comes with this design. We love creating moons and suns in mosaics! It is the middle ground between the light of the sun and the darkness of night, and thus often represents the realm between the conscious and the unconscious. The circular shape alone is a symbol of the never ending circle of life. Placing a half moon and half sun inside the circle supplies even more meaning. The sun is often recognized as a symbol of rebirth, strength and power.

Gift to someone for a birthday, as a Mother's Day or Father's Day gift, graduation, anniversary, wedding. Anyone who meditates and likes to sit peacefully focusing on an object can use this mosaic to help them go to a higher place within their mind.

Plate measures 10 inches and is a recycled dish given to me when I first moved to PA with my young children. It was used, loved and retired waiting for some mosaic magic. We're happy to share this with you!

One of my all-time favorite designs to draw and make into mosaics is the lotus. This mosaic has stained glass in iridescent pink, pieces of a broken lamp in pink, green and purple, some bright green glass tiles, stained glass in green, mirror, ball chain, and small plastic flowers. Lots to see in this 8 x 10 inch wall art.

Bohemian in nature, this has a soothing quality to it, especially when near sunlight. It is very sparkly and shines brightly making even the most gloomy of days extra special and will make you smile. Meditate with it near you to feel the good vibrations. Namaste!

I couldn't decide which way I wanted it to hang, which is why there are no photos of it hanging on the wall. It looks great vertically as well as horizontally. Therefore, there is a hanger and hardware taped to the back of this piece waiting for your decision. You can request I add it before I send it out to you and in which direction you'd like it or the hardware can be included for you. In The Studio - Wednesday

Sometimes it's hard to know exactly what to write in my blog that might be interesting enough to share. The truth is, sometimes life is just sort of boring. I see it as a time to rest, allow the muse and her minions the time to regroup and make decisions on what's next.

I have things to grout but have decided to wait. I started working on a few small things but have put them aside for the moment.

This week and for the next few, I am focusing on moving within the house from one room to another. This is really not a big deal or not as big as the last move we all had in December. Much is still in boxes, awaiting the sorting of color and getting more clear boxes to fill up. I do have a lot of jars now, thanks to the fam saving them for me as they are emptied!

I will miss the bright orange color of this room I'm in now but the space is small.

I've managed to "spill" mosaics out into the hall and window sills throughout the house. Living with artists and like-minded people is a wonderful thing. Finding space for everything I've made over the years, even with placing mosaics throughout the house, is still a challenge. But we make it work!

I'm looking forward to the room I'll be in, which is the attic! It's deep purple painted walls and small touches added here and there invite me to decorate in bohemian decor. I can't wait to start purchasing tapestries, etc. to fill the space.

The room I'm moving into is bigger than this one, affording me the luxury of possibly eventually getting a desk for the computer and a work table for the art work!

The process of packing isn't difficult. Waiting for those who work and need to clear the attic space so I can move into it is all I'm really doing.

My grandson will be moving into the room I'm in now, which means he'll actually have a room to himself. Something he hasn't had for many years. He's very excited!

As the time is spent waiting for others, I spend a few hours on Etsy teams in the mornings, sharing the love and my own shop wherever I can.

Mostly, I've decided to just chill and enjoy the spring weather in the country and relax.

Retro Flower Power Stained Glass Mosaic Pitcher - 6 Inches

 

 

Bright flowers in orange, green and blue wrap around the pitcher in stained glass and mirror. I call this design Flower Power. It makes me happy and keeps me smiling. This was a groovy project to do.

 

 

 

Decorative yet useful art is my favorite kind of art to make. Use in the kitchen to hold your cooking utensils, fill it up with flowers and place in the center of a table in any room in your home. Could even hold brushes and combs in the bathroom. This can be for anyone, at any age, placed in any room.

 

Measures 6 inches high, 3.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches long.

 

 

 

I gave the soft cream colored vintage pitcher an updated look. There are no markings on the bottom of the pitcher but the original felt "feet" are still in place.

 

I am proud to take forgotten items and create a beautiful, useful piece of art like this one. It is a delight to share with you all the joy I have when I give new purpose to old pieces.

 

 

DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER OR RUN THROUGH DISHWASHER.

 

WARNING: temperature changes could crack the grout and pop the mosaic pieces off. Not recommended for outdoor use where temperatures reach below zero as they sometimes do here in Pennsylvania.

Mosaic Shrine - Bohemian Decor - Sun Design - Hippie Art - "Sun Shrine In A Box" - FREE SHIPPING Within US - $250.50

My mosaic shrine is called "Sun Shrine In A Box" using a clever play on words for "shrine" and "sunshine". :)

Measures 7 inches by 8 inches and is covered inside and out, top to bottom with stained glass, china and mirror.

It was once a small wooden jewelry box painted in pink with bright flowers heading towards the dumpster. I have re-purposed it into a fine piece of Bohemian mosaic art.

I used stained glass, tempered glass, ball chain, charms, broken china and mirror on the inside. On the outside I used broken china, mirror and stained glass covering the top, bottom, sides and back.

The sun was painted then sprinkled liberally with gold glitter, covered in tempered glass and outlined in ball chain. The charms hanging from the top are a few broken earrings and really cool odds and ends charms given to me over the years. I added the finial on top and painted it black.

Tea light shown is not included. Should you use a candle inside, to protect the mosaic and your surroundings, please be aware the structure is wood. Do not leave candle unattended or burn for long periods of time.

This is not a light piece of art! It weighs about 5 lbs. More photos available upon request. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This is definitely one-of-a-kind.
