Wednesday - Art Table Fun

This week I've been making quite a few cards but haven't been working in the art journals very much. Some weeks it's the opposite. I try to make at least one card a day. Here's a favorite I started in June and finally finished it on Monday.

Approximately the size of a tarot card

Cardboard is being used for practice painting. So much better than expensive canvas until I'm much better at it! I like this and used a painted and embellished paper as the vase, the rest is done using acrylics and an ink pen.

A doodled paper gets one piece cut out to be placed on the card next to it. I'll probably use this particular doodled paper that way for other cards.

Cards in progress. The round one is from a piece of cardboard that separated cat food cans.

I cut all nine circles out for future card making.

I have been having a lot of fun doodling on roll-off painted papers. I put them in a folder waiting to be doodled and then they go into another folder to be used later for collage art.

Some of these are so pretty as they are. I'd like to frame a few. Most will get ripped, cut and glued down onto something at some point in time. That is their purpose, after all.

Pretty colored blend on the roller. I like it!

Leftover paint for a project got added to the Gelli plate and rolled out briefly. The paper is watercolor paper which is my favorite to use for the Gelli plate. It picks up the colors so much better than most other papers however it's very hard to glue down. That's why I end up cutting out stencils from these. Slightly easier to glue down and keep in place.

So my birthday was a great success and I had a wonderful time being pampered by all the FB friends from around the world wishing me well and with a nice dinner and cake made by my daughter! I also got to video chat with my family in Norway. 😍 And the gifts my friend got me through the Amazon Birthday Wish List are awesome! LOOK!

These incense sticks are noted for having earthy, musky, and sometimes sweet notes. Perfect!

The rock cairn on the left is the gift. The slate, wood and crystal wrapped in jute is something I made (also shown on the table at the top of the blog) and the shell was made by the ocean. 😁

Delish!

Enjoy the journey.
