There was a little bit of headway happening on my website yesterday. I added all the mosaics that are no longer available through Etsy. Nothing has changed, prices are the same but purchasing items from this site requires using PayPal. I have no problem with that. I hope my customers won't either. However, during a thunderstorm last night, the website went down. I sent a message to the support team and they've responded and are checking it out. I'm guess it's something weather-related. I'll post an update on Friday.
Meanwhile, I wanted to share some of the art I've been doing over the past week or so. As a side-note: I make my own Gesso using baby powder, paint, glue and water. It's very easy to make. If anyone wants the recipe to make their own Gesso, send me a message or comment here on the blog and I'll share it.
I covered Gesso on 4 inch wooden art boards and am starting a layered painted paper technique I learned a few months ago. I truly love this technique and use it often.
First layer down! This layer gets some paint on it, then another layer of paper, some sanding and a stain or glaze on top. After that is all dry I usually add a cut out from a painted paper and some circles in acrylic paint. And almost always some wise words of advice such as what I am sharing below.
These are not layered although I was going to make them in that technique. I liked these papers a lot in the first two and decided they would look great with some dots and circles and Asemic writing too! The last one was fun to do. I used strips of cut up painted papers to make a collage.
