Day 5. Movement

Day 5. Movement - Still feeling a bit blah from the flu so I pulled this great shot out of a folder I took on Christmas Day that I altered a bit to make it look magical. There are 3 moving children and a quiet cat watching the action. That green blur on the right is Malachi, Asuka and Rowan are on the left. Trampy, the kitty, is the only one not moving! :)

Day 4 - The View From Here

Day 4. The View From Here - I've got the rotten flu/cold that's being passed around and decided to wait in the car while my daughter and grandson did the grocery shopping. That provided some interesting views I'd not normally have. When I used the photo editing I noticed a rainbow peaking out towards the top of the clouds. I haven't seen one in years and would have missed it entirely had I gone into the store with them. Awesome stuff.

Photo A Day - Days 2 & 3 - 01/02 and 01/03/2013

Day 2. Something New
Pendant blanks to make more mosaic jewelry!

Day 3. Heart
A rather crude looking mosaic I made back in 2006, I think. The early days of not knowing how to nip glass or mirror and using way too much water to clean off grout. I've learned so much since then!

Stay peaceful.

Hug Someone You Love Today

I'm taking some time away from blogging and promoting my shop from December 23rd until January 6th. I'll be spending time with finishing touches and more creations of mosaic gifts but also and much more importantly, I'll be spending time with my family.

We recently learned of the passing of a very important person in our family; my Grandson's biological father. He had many demons chasing him and I'm thankful he was able to find some peace in what turned out to be the last months of his life. He had the chance to bond with his youngest son who is 5 (my grandson) and got to know and enjoy his granddaughter who is not yet a year old. The last time our blended family spent time together was on Thanksgiving and it was one I will never forget. The day was filled with love, laughter and unity. I will miss him very much. Hug someone you love today, tell them you love them and mean it. Life is a most precious gift. Find minutes in each day to be thankful for your life. Find things about it that make you happy ... even if it's just a small thing ... enjoy as much as you can because now is all we have.

Sending out love and getting it in return is one of the best virtual vibrations I've ever experienced - not just today - but all year round. Happy Holidays, with much love, from me to you.

Be at peace.

Friday's Featured Item: Stained Glass Mosaic Suncatcher Holiday Decor

Stained Glass Mosaic, Suncatcher, Green, Red, Light Blue, Upcycled, Recycled, Holiday Decor - Measures 11 1/2 inches
Price: $185.00

This started as a discarded microwave plate we salvaged from the dumpster. Re-purposed, upcycled, reused and recycled is a goal for each mosaic I make. Here is the best reason for my choices. Something once discarded as no longer useful, has a new purpose.

This has a profoundly beautiful fused glass piece in green and red (circa 1985). I've chosen to surround that piece with greens, reds, a little yellow, and some light blue stained glass in hand cut bits and pieces of stained glass and glass gems. Grouted in charcoal and sealed but not waterproof.

Traditionally sun catchers are hung in the window to grab the light, however, my plates are heavy and hanging is not recommended nor do I craft them for that purpose. Instead, place this on a display dish holder as shown in photos (display holder not included) in any room near a sunny window and enjoy the immense beautiful of these colors with the sun shining through.

DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER.

Item price includes shipping, insurance and handling.

As always, thank you supporting handmade this holiday season and all throughout the year!

Be at peace.
